Congrats on the future purchase.

As for the string I would replace it anyway.

Contact Chad (LBR) here on the forum for the string.

thanks for the help guys. i got it and shot is some with the arrows i use on my compound. it had one of those plastic rests on it but it was dry rotted so it broke in half after a few shots. is there any specific arrows i need to get for this recurve or can i just use any old arrow... i know that if i am gonna be shooting off of the shelf i need to have feather fletchings but i think im just gonna try to find another one of those rests somewhere for it. so what would be you guys' recommendation for arrows?

No not just any old arrows, you need arrows matched to the bow. You'll need about a 1716 aluminum arrow for a 30# bow @ 29".

thanks va bowbender...so im guessin that 2117 alluminumarrows would be way to heavy??? and its a 30# bow at 28" draw not 29" i dont know if that would make a difference in the arrow sizebut i just thought i would let you know.

Thanks
JT

2117 would be too stiff. 29" was a type error but the 1" wouldn't make any difference anyway.

The 2117's would be alright for up close bale shooting working on form as long as the are flying failrly straight and not smacking the riser. Other then that I would also recommend the 1716's.
