For Black walnut that is

Look what I found it is some of the best Black Walnut I have come across.

I had to dig my way through 3 big piles of boards before I found this one and another 2 stacks to find another piece with simular lines.

I ended up with 8 board feet of it

Thats sure is some nice curly walnut. That is the great thing about black walnut, its easy to find at lumber yards. But finding a piece with that much curl, is a find.

Beautiful. I love working with walnut with a nice grain. Love the smell while sanding. Beautiful piece.

Im glad you do. I think it stinks. Now for something like cocobola, osage, or Ipe, there is a nice smell. I love the smell of cocobola, to bad its toxic.

5-6 years ago, my cousin gave me 15-20 boards of true 1" thick fancy walnut that he cut (he has a sawmill) ... really nice stuff, been in my attic now for 5 years, just drying, waiting to be used for something
