RE: Question on bow string length

Either one will work, but as good as the right string would. The one may have a pretty high brace, the other will require a lot of twisting. I' d try a different shop and get the right string.

RE: Question on bow string length

If you' re looking at pre-made strings at a shop, they would most likely be endless strings. In that respect, no...they wouldn' t work.

The one for a 55" bow would brace it WAY too high. You' d risk damaging the bow bracing it that far over its recomended hight and then drawing it.

The string for a 58" bow is far too long. Endless strings are not made to be twisted hard enough to shorten them two inches. When you twist a string that hard, you' re running a high risk of breaking it.

Seriously, use nothing but the correct string for your bow.

RE: Question on bow string length

Forget what I said--listen to JRW. I stay in a " flemish state of mind" when it comes to strings, and don' t know diddley about endless. Sorry about that.

Tim I see you' re from Greensburg. Did you go to Nelson' s? I' m right in Mt.Pleasant, I can make you a flemish twist string if you want to go that route. Feel free to email me.
