I think it might be the other way around; i.e. fewer strands, less spine and vice versa. I say that because when I went from 14 strand dyna 97 to 12 strand, I picked up a little speed. In turn I think that might serve to soften the spine a little. But not enuf to make a real difference in my arrows. On the negative side, I'm finding I have more problems getting a cleaner release and am about to have Chad make me another 14 strand.

Yep--what Jack said--lol. You may gain a tiny bit of speed with less strands, but I doubt it would be enough to affect your arrow flight much if any. I don't know of any real benefits to small diamter strings. You might gain 1 or 2 fps., but they are generally noisier and less durable. I could save myself some money by advocating tiny strings, but I just don't have any faith in them.
