...that belonged to my dad. It's a 62" 45# recurve, wood and some sort of epoxy maybe?...green on one side, brown on the other.
The mfg is "Locksley" and the model is "Puma". I don't know too much about it, and haven't found much after searching on the web, except that it's fun to take out and shoot with once in awhile. I seem to have a hard time holding it steady to aim, but that might just be my lack of practice.
Anyone know anything about this bow? ...or the company?

OMG I have that same model bow except mine is 40#s. It was my grandfathers. It is white glass on one side and green glass on the other. From what I have found out it was made in the mid 60's. Locksley was based out of arkansas and was their own company at one point, then they were taken over by Ben Pearson, but still sold them under the Locksley name. When I get home I will take a photo of mine and post it for you. Here is a link where I found out info about mine.

Yeah, that was the only link I found too... the description of the Puma included white/green glass wheras mine is brown/green. Maybe they used different colors depending on the weight?
I'd also read about some connection to Ben Pearson, but didn't know it was a seperate company out of Arkansas. Just thought"Locksley" wasa Pearson budget-line or something...
When I get home later I'll post a couple pics.

Here are some pics...

Anyone know what the 0961 designation is? [edit: ok,I figured that out,0961 isthe model number for the Puma] All the descriptions I've seen for the Puma say this side of the bow is white...as you can see, this one's like reddish brown.

The felt is coming up a bit, should I try to glue it back down?

I get the 45# 28" draw, not sure what the 261_5508 is all about...
[edit: from the pics below I can tell now that's L61_5508]
Still using the original drawstring too.

That is the exact same one I have except where yours is red glass mine is white but everything else is the same. Well except for the draw weight. I just shot it a few weeks ago just for giggles and it shoots decent. But I just have trouble with the grip. Its not horrible but not exactly to my liking. But I will always keep it around since it was my grandfathers.

This one belonged to my dad... he just sort of gave it to me when I was a teen; or maybe I just adopted it? He never used it. He said he bought at K-mart in Michigan when he was in his teens for bow fishing. I can distinctly remember trying to string it backwards when I was like 12 and wondering why the string grooves were on the wrong side.
The only time I ever saw my dad even come close to using it was one year for halloween... he dressed up like Robin Hood. Never saw him shoot it once.

Thanks for posting the pics. After seeing yours, I was able to make out "L61" as opposed to "261" on my serial number.

Yeah I bought that string from Cabelas if my memory serves me right. But just look around you will find many people who can build you a string for it. I reccomend replacing that old string asap. That string is far past its useful life. As far as them all being made in 1964 im not sure. Most of the time it is very hard to identify the exact year they were made but my guess is that it was somewhere close to that year when they were made. Yours looks like its in about the same condition as mine. I wiped mine down with some murphy's oil soap to clean the dirt off of it.
