Now this is a cool bow

finally got me an osage selfbow with rattlesnake skin on the limbs, and elk hoof tips. Has some decent zip to it. But man, I am not used to the handshock.

Here is the belly. Looks like it has 4 coats of poly.

Send it to me and I'll shoot the handshock out of it for ya. ;)

You're throwing gas on the fire, you know that? I'm getting the urge to make another bow and I just might finally throw down the cash for a snakey stave. Nice bow you got there! :)

Thanks Arthur. I have always wanted one like this. A guy on these forums promised to make one for me, and then never came thru. So I found someone else on tradgang.

The BH is set to 5.75". Does that sound reasonable? I have an email in to the original buyer. I figured I might raise it to 6" to 6.5" to see if an knock down that handshock. If your not careful, she will fly out of your hands.

I think I'd raise it up if it's jumping that bad. If you have to go to 6 1/2", I don't think it'll hurt, but naturally the lower you can go and still get acceptable shooting the better.

How does the tiller look? Sometimes a bow will thump the hand a little too hard if the tiller isn't quite right. You might need to to a little additional sanding to one limb or the other.

Cool, real cool! Is that the one I saw on tradgang for sale?

Tiller is within 1/4" not drawn, and gets better half drawn. I see he left some tiller marks on it. Little black dots up the limb. Thas where I measured. I thought that might be reasonable, but I am not a bow builder.

Looks nice. Id raise that BH too. and see. Twist that string up untill it gets better and see anyway.

My hunting bow is a snakey osage with copperheads. I love that there isn't another in the world like it.

Very nice :) Looks like someone did you proud with that one. Bump the brace up to 6". It won't hurt it at all.
