3 or 4 fletch?

Howdy folks! I want some opinions and reasons on what you all use when it comes to using 3 or 4 fletch. I'm a 4 fletch (4" Feathers) guy myself. Whats your preference and why?

It really doesn't matter to me. I usually use a standard three fletch though. The only comnination that I don't care for is the 90,90,90,90 degree 4 fletch. Mainly because you will get some contact with a fletch.

Right now my arrows are fletched 3-5”. But I have been experimenting and once I get time, I plan to redo them to 4-4”. I love the arrow flight I get from that setup. Still tinkering with using 4 @ 90 or the 105/75? Setup.

I usually use 3-fletch for most of my shooting. Mainly because I'm a cheapskate and feathers cost money. If I was shooting in thick stuff and needed my arrow to stabilize quickly, I'd go 4-fletch. Another reason I might go 4-fletch is a situation like I ran into last summer. I got a bunch of butt-ugly artificial barred feathers and wanted to use them up quickly. I've got a bunch of butt-ugly 4-fletchsmall game arrows.

I use 3 fletch with 4" parabolic on tapered "Grizzly Stik" arrows. I find with the full length tapered shafts and heavy points, 3 - 4" feathers are plenty to keep them "flying like darts".

I use three 5" feathers, but been thinking about going to four 4" because "full length" feathers keep getting shorter and I am more likely to get two cuts per feather with 4"than I am with 5".
As far as flight, I haven't been able to tell a difference. With three 5" feathers, I get 15" of feather on the shaft. With four 4", I get 16" of feather. I have mine matched so I can shoot bare-shaft though, so feathers just help cover my mistakes and keep broadheads flying straight.
