Just wondering how many of you shoot of the shelf - if you don't shoot of the shelf what do you use?

I shoot off the shelf. No special reason other than thats the way I started and am comfortable with.

For recurves I don't shoot off the shelf. Rather, I use a stick-on Flipper II rest from NAP.

Longbows off the shelf. Selfbows off my knuckle. Recurves either off the shelf for hunting or a stick-on rest for tournament (when rules allow).

I get very good accuracy off the shelf on my 'curve, but even better accuracy off a rest. I have run square up against Murphy's Law too many times when using rests for hunting.
