what is your favorite trade secret/tip?
Hello friends,
recently I have been writing a journal for myself and to pass along to my children of helpful tips and stories afield. As I have been writing these down I thought "hey, lets put it on the forum and share with the community". So lets have them, pass on a tip or two if you want for all to benefit.
Tip: Fire starter/flashlight
Yes it is possible to start a fire with a flashlight. First remove the reflector from the light. Then using a small amount of clothes dryer lint or a cigarette place material in the bulb hole. Move the material in or out until you find the sharpest consentration of sunlight and wait for ignition. Once ignited place on additional tinder and complete fire. Obviously this method works best in clear sunlight.
Lets continue this and see what we get. May God bless you all and keep you safe in these troubled times.

My favorite? Hmmmmmm, I would have to think about that one a little while.
Well, I guess it would have to be something that I think I saw on this forum when I first viewed it several years ago. It goes something along the lines of Long Bows Rule!!

Tips? How about these. When wilderness hunting, never leave camp without a back with emergency supplies. Always trust your compass. It doesn't lie. (Except in the Iron Range of Minnesota!) Dick

Mike,
Your signature isn't a bad tip by itself. It can make up for other shortcomings in the setup.

When the game ain't moving, go fishin'. When the fish ain't bitin', go huntin'. When neither are happening, that's nature's way of telling you to go home and spend time with your wife. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: what is your favorite trade secret/tip?
and I thought I was bad Art...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!
I was reading tonite and found something of interest to you pluckers out there. (myself to a certain degree included)
Everyone talks back muscles this, pull through that. Should I dead release or pull through.....
Well I have been having some problems with my bottom finger "hanging up" as I began calling it. I read something tonite by a pretty reputible man. He said, THINK releasing with the bottom finger first, the other two will follow, giving you a clean release. Obvisouly you cant be collapsing and expect to get a good release. I also agree with a few others, you cant pull through unconciously...its something you think about doing and in doing so can start doing bad things all over again. Dont ya love it....
Well I put it to the test on my burlap bag in the closet for 30 minutes. I cant say it cleared it up but it really helped a ton! The first arrow was gone and the hand DIDNT MOVE PERIOD! With a tad bit of practice at my closet bail I should be back to letting the string go and not the string letting go of me!!!
