Yes sirrreee, i will be out for the 07 elk hunting season, packing my longbow around patiently waiting for the perfect scenario to bring down an elk...

Well, I had a different hunt planned for September--planned it for two years, and recently it fell through. Not anyone's fault, the fellow I was going to go with (I won't try it by myself--never been) had some things happen that were beyond his control.
Fortunately for me, another hunt fell into my lap shortly after that, and that's the one I plan on now. However, I have a couple of things going on here that could keep me from going. One is a dear friend with terminal cancer who isn't doing well. If he passes on or around the day I'm supposed to leave, I'll have to wait until next year. There's also a legal matter that may wind up falling on the wrong date. Been waiting to settle it for over a year, so I can't postpone it if the dates don't fall right.
I'm dying to go on my first elk hunt, but both of the above are much more important to me.

I'm bummed...I missed being drawn for my New Mexico elk hunt this year..!!!...But we have been hunting in Carson for elk with longbows and recurves...I only hunt trad.
