I thought real tradiditional bows were wood stick bows, I don't know if recurves and laminated bows are considered real traditional, What is your take on that ?
My take on it is that it is really just a term to draw a line of difference between wheels and no wheels. That seems to be the biggest difference the most folks, not all, agree on. If someone doesn't feel it goes far enough for them, then they should do what they like. Bows have undergone advancements for centuries. Heck, you can go all the way back to using a spear and forcing game off a cliff in a loin cloth if that makes ya feel more "traditional". I just don't have the buns for it anymore...:D:D

I was referring to longbows and Recurves made of laminates, the laminate bows are not accepted by some as traditional, because they either are backed with fiberglass or carbon, using modern glues.

Hey Kosher, did you make the laminated bows? You called them self bows, and the only "self bows"I have seen were ones that people made out of branches and boards, that had no sight window.

Yep I make them too, I call them self bows , cause I made them myself ,LOL.
Now Am experimenting with some exotic south American woods such as sapele, cocobolo,Amazon Cherry etc.
I will try a flatbow first then some laminateed bows but without any glass or carbon, just want to see what they can yield.

Wow that is awesome. So they whole bow is just wood and glue/epoxy? Their are no carbone/fiberglass strips? I am very interested at learning how to make those.

The old girl has held up well. I refinished her three years ago, so that is why she seems to have aged well. Actually, she has aged very well. I think Herters went out of busniess in 1980. Not sure. As for hog hunting, its a blast. I always spend my offseason stalking hawgs. Here in Texas, we have more than our share.

Here are a few from last year. Great practice for deer season.

That is sweet bernie. Does it taste the same as domestic pork? I bet that would be good practice.
