I can't hit a bull in thebutt with a base fiddle using a recurve and split fingers. Which is why I went to three under...and while I still can't hit all that great...at least it got more consistant.
Anyway, I was told by a less than reliable source that you MUST shoot a longbow split fingers. Thought I would ask on here, since I don't trust the fella who told me this.
If it makes any difference, I shot a longbow with 3 under the other day...and seemed to shoot it well. But who knows? Any thoughts?

You are correct; your source is "less than reliable"! Total hogwash, shoot away and have a good time! Heck, I have a longbow coming this week that was custom made for me and tillered specifically for 3 under.

My longbow is balanced for 3 under. I never could tune the thing split finger. Now my recurve is just the opposite. I am so used to shooting 3 under, I am trying to shoot it 3 under, and having issues getting good flight 3 under.

I'm shooting my recurves and longbows 3 fingers under, my Widow is tillered for 3 under but my longbow (Bear Montana) is not..........both bows shoot and tuned BEAUTIFULLY 3 under.
I wish some of my compounds tuned that nice![:-]

Just raise the nocking point a bit higher than you would for split fingers and most bows will shoot fine 3 fingers under. At least that has been my experience.
