Default '03 Shoot Schedule

Trying to get an idea of what shoots I will be attending this coming season--anyone have dates yet? Most of the ones I will be attending will be in the South/Southeast. I am also giving strong consideration to the Texas State Longbow Championship, the Southeastern Championship in Georgia and one of the TBOF shoots in Florida, but will have to see how these work into my schedule. Might consider one shoot "up North"--any suggestions?

As it stands, I plan on being at:

ASTB Spring Shoot (Children's Hospital Fundraiser) (Tannehill Ironworks/State Park, AL)
ASTB State Championship (Tannehill Park, AL)
Jerry Pierce Memorial Shoot (Enid Lake, MS)
Twin Oaks(Clarkesville, TN)
"The Real Thing" in Louisiana (not sure on location yet)
The Kentucky Klassic (Pulaski Park, near Nancy, KY)

And of course our local club shoots.

Don't know the dates on these yet, but should be able to get info. before too long. How about the rest of you? Hope to meet up with at least some of ya'll sooner or later!

Chad

Any idea when the Kentucky Klassic will be? If it is the right weekend, and I play my cards right, I might be able to make that one. Maybe it will be while the kids are on spring break, and I can drop my wife off at her sisters. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Gotta work all the angles ya know.

Kip, I don't even remember for sure what month the KK is--March, April, May? I will find out though.

Tuff, not that dang far! I do have tenative plans to go to the NALS and/or hunt Vancouver Island within a couple years though. Plan on visiting with a longhair hippie-type midget bowyer while I am there too.

CT, the big daddy rabbit of trad shoots is in PA--Denton Hill. Never been to it, heard there was some folks not exactly happy with it last year, kinda expensive to go to, but I hope to make it there at least once before I die. I have a few friends in PA, will see if they know of any others up that way.

Chad

I believe the Ky Klassic is the second weekend in April. It was April 13th & 14th this year anyway. Hope to see you'all there this coming April.

Denton Hill is really a great traditional rendevous. The shoot runs Thurs-Sunday. There is no daily pass. You pay for the remaining days of the shoot when you enter. If you get there Wed or Thurs the price is $30. Friday is $25, etc. Many vendors and you can shoot any bow that's there and there are a lot of them. I believe there were 8 different 3d courses with 3 of them beginning at the top of the mountain for which you must ride the ski lift ($2). I've been there 2 years now and it is a must attend event. Camping there is extra.
