New Bow

I just got this last week and finally got to give it a good work out.62" Hill Half Breed,57#@28".Yew on the back and belly and 3 lams of bamboo(normally they have 2 lams of 'boo). It's kinda differant seeing a Hill bow this short, but this is such a sweet shooting and one of the nicest looking Hills I've ever seen. And handshock?Nope-haven't been kicked yet by it:D

Pretty bow Jim, nice contrast! I was gonna say I thought the Hill bows were typically like 70"?

How do you shoot that style bow with what looks like no grip throat? Is hand placement a little funky?

That's about as short as I want in a longbow.My other 2 Hills are 64" & 66" and I have 5 other longbows that range from 62"-66".
The grip is slightly dished. It's actually perfect for me.No matter how I grab it,I get perfect hand placement and there's no torquing the riser-the grip is just dead on.My one Hill has a locator grip and that's real nice but I prefer the dished personally--that's just what works for me

Jim, when did Craig start running the belly lamination down the riser?

Thenewest HH the I have was made in 2004 and it still doesn't have that. Or is it unique to your model?

Not sure,Bob.This is a 2006 bow as are my 2 Wesleys and they're the same

That's interesting.

Here is a pic of my 04 Wesley made by Craig, you can see the lamination design differences.

Ok-here's my 2 Wesley's.The one with the clear glass has a lam coming down over the riser. The black glass has just straight lams down the back of the bow.The clear Wes was made last summer and the black Wes (I emailed the guy I bought it off of)was made a few years ago.

RE: New Bow

The clear glass one also has overlays on the riser back--something you don't see too often.
