RE: 'Gator Huntin'
Dang near anything you do with an outfitter is expensive--but, they gotta' eat too. I get to talk to a lot of folks, and get lucky here and there. Our game warden host in SC is as good or better than a guide--he's got plenty of experience with moving (and dispatching) gators and knows where they stay (and won't charge us). I love this sport!

RE: 'Gator Huntin'
Ouch.........guess some of them like to eat really well! 'Course if they have prime spots to "trophy" animals, they get to charge pretty much what they want. A local guy here (multi-millionaire) is going to spend a small fortune on a black bear hunt, this fall I think. Seems like when it's all said and done it's going to cost around $12,000 to $15,000. The catch is he wants to kill the new world record, and to get into that level he has to pay through the nose.
I'm gonna' be tickled pink if I get an 8-9 foot gator--don't care about scores. Bob, I'm one of the luckiest people on the face of the planet--got a great family, I love what I do, and it opens doors that otherwise I'd never even know about. Can't ask for much more than that! Chad |
