RE: New Bows

I know you're not nocking them. Never thought you were.

I shoot at least 57-58 # and those D style bows can kick no matter how you hold them,
Try gripping one tightly with a locked out elbow. I've done it on accident a few times with my 74# Wesley Special. Ouch. :D

Here is a site which gets into detail of the HH grip for anyone interested.
http://www.howardhillshooters.com/hillgrip/hillgrip.html

I also have some R/D longbows and some recurves with virtually no hand shock. Always trade offs though.

IMHO though, I like the differences between a D style longbow and a recurve. I don't think I will personally get anything in-between anymore (hybrid).

I'd like to try a Hill style bow someday. I've owned or shot just about every other style. I personally don't like the way they look, but if they shoot good I could care less how they look!!

RE: New Bows

Do you guys get excited about new bows, I am like a kid at Christmas
Yep, I was bouncing off the walls watching the mail box until this arrived on my door step last Monay.

That's my new Chekmate Sabre; bocote and cocobolo riser with black walnut limbs. When the package arrived, Shelly said my eyes lit up like a young kid on Christmas morning. I probably look like a kid tearing into that box too. I should be able to finally shoot some arrows through it this afternoon. Between work and the weather, getting shooting time has been a challenge.
