Tab or Glove?
In the same vein as a previous post (3-under or 1-over 2-under); who shoots with a tab and who shoots with a glove?
|
RE: Tab or Glove?
I use both. Basically, I prefer the glove for hunting and goofing around and a tab for serious target shooting. But I do go through periods when I only shoot one or the other. I've been in a glove phase for the past year or so. Before that, I was in a tab phase for several years.

RE: Tab or Glove?
I like a glove better then anything.

RE: Tab or Glove?
I've shot traditional archery (bowhunting)with a tab for thepast 36 years.Gloves have a tendency to get deepgrooves in the fingers and thiscauses the string to jump over theridges of thegrooves causing a bad release whichsometimes results in the fishtailing of the arrow.

RE: Tab or Glove?
I use gloves. I could never get used to a tab and gave up on them quickly. I only use cordovan leather tipped gloves however. As mentioned, regular leather will get grooves in them. Cordovan will not.

RE: Tab or Glove?
I have found I get a much cleaner smoother release with tab. But would prefer a glove.

RE: Tab or Glove?
Glove but I have never tried a tab. I will soon.
|
RE: Tab or Glove?
I started with a glove and didn't really like it, so I switched to a tab and then it got "stolen" and a buddy had a glove so I tried that again. Now, I'm stuck on the glove because the second one was much better quality and I started shooting much better (probably mental).

RE: Tab or Glove?
I use a tab. I just make 'em myself from $5 bags of scrap craft leather I get at Hobby lobby. Pretty easy to make since I shoot 3 under. The first one took a little while to get the right feel, but now, using that first as a template, it only takes about 10 minutes to cut one out with some EMS shears and a exacto knife for the hole. I always misplace them before I can wear them out, but I make 2 or 3 at a time and stash them. Been doing that for years, ever since I read Chuck Adams made his own that way.

RE: Tab or Glove?
I just picked up a glove made by vista and its basically a neet calf hair tab into a glove and I love it. I have the comfort of a glove and the clean release of a tab.

RE: Tab or Glove?
Haven't been shooting trad for long,(compound for years) but I made my own split finger tabs out of leather reminents and some hair on hide, and I love them.
