I am always hunting does. Occasionaly a buck comes through in front of the does and as bad as I hate it, I have to shoot him. He! He!

I havent shot a buck for 5 years (my choice) I get 3 tags and use them on does. Usually I try and hunt an old alpha doe that I have spotted later in the season Those "girls" are tougher to hunt IMHO than anything. That said,if I had a chance at a BIG 6x6 Mulie I would give it some serious thought.

There are some hunters I know who hunt only bucks. That's OK with me. I will take a doe any day I get a shot.

I get satisfaction out of the hunt itself. If the hunt produces a deer (regardless of sex) it's a bonus. The fact that I'm helping the population by taking does is an added bonus.

A friend of mine told me he was hunting his mother in laws land this year (no other hunters permitted). It is prime deer country and hasn't been hunted in several years. I asked when he was going to invite me. He responded, "after I take the 8 pointer!". I responded, "What if I only take does with a bow?". I got the invitation!!!!!

Trophy = Anything that hits the ground with a well placed arrow.

Ignorant = Someone who thinks hunting ANYTHING with a bow is easy or unethical.

Stupid = Someone who puts someone else down for something that is legal, helpfull to the deer herd, and ethical.

Anoying = when people write things like this instead of a real worded post. Sorry.

"Hey ya'll, watch this"

Back when your Grandfather was helping to instill hunting ethics in your father, there were few if any deer in my part of the country. No sportsman would consider shooting a doe else the entire regional deer population suffer. That's back in the day men hunted to put meat on the table for his family. Each new generation brings new ethics and morals to hunting. Change is always tough.
