RE: And then Reality Set in
Honestly, I want to be able to snap shoot, I seem so much more consistent snap shooting. I also like you shoot better snap shooting after I have shot a bunch of arrows simple because I can not hold my bow arm up and steady long enough to take a careful aim. Chad has made two very good points. One is snap shooting is very difficult to master. And two is accuracy will follow form. Really, it will. |
RE: And then Reality Set in
Thanks guys, this is not uncommon for me unfortately to try to master something in a few weeks. You should have seen me starting reloading ammo year ago. Right off the bat, I was wanting to wiegh brass, and neck turn, and have competition quality ammo in a day. And reality set in.All those details were making me crazy and evenually my ammonot very great. But the problem is I read too much. And got the impression, I shouldn't startrifling the arrow or gap shooting or string walking if I want to eventually instintive shoot. Just trying to not develop bad habits. Jim has gracously offered to work with me and greatly appreciate that.
But good thing is I don't quit on something I am serious about. So maybe its best right now to do a simple form of gap shooting. And one day, maybe snap shooting and truely instintive shooting will come? Maybe not. |

It seems so simple but have such trouble getting my timing right. I know I am too get my hand grib little high, cant my bow about 1:30 position, keep my elbow down not high, relax my thumb and pinky, push my shoulder out, take a 1sec look down the arrow, pull thru as my middle finger hits the corner of my mouth. It seems I forget one or two of these steps. I guess like a golf swing, (never did), saying how to do it and doing it is two different things. |
RE: And then Reality Set in
Just keep in mind that there are very few snap shooters that can consistently shoot well at 20yds.....
