Thanks for everyone's thoughts & idea's. I'm going to try andhold outfora broadside shot on my next deer and see what happens. I still have plenty of time left in the season.

There's been some good stuff put on here but my only suggestion would be to get as much arrow mass as you can and that probably means not metal. I wouldn't use anything less than 550 grains of arrow with your bow and would go heavier if I could. I shoot a bunch of weight but I've also had complete pass thru shots on deer with 45# recurves but using heavy (575 gr.) arrows when I did. You can't be concerned with speed if your taking the good 15 yd. shots. Congrats on the buck, nice deer.

longbowman2,
My current arrow weight is exactly 476grs. w/100gr. broadhead. I could easily go with a125gr. broadhead that would just get me over 500grs.
I wouldn't think that would be enough tomake a differencethough.
I wish I wasn't concerned with arrow speed, but I am. Is that the old compound bow shooter coming out in me?

moose1915,
"thank you"
No Oneida doesn't have a recurve, but it's kinda looks like one with the recurve limb tips. I think here again it's the speed demons getting to me and the fact that I want to be able to have an exit hole for tracking purposes.
