Anyone still at it

Not to many post about hunting lately, is everyone done for the year? I have been out with the rifle the past few days but not seeing much (I never see much). My camp got hit with a big snow storm, around 3 ft feel in just a day in the high country. Most of the deer moved to the lower ground already.Hunted with the bow out of acamp tree stand but with the freezing rain and falling snow I only managed toget sick but it was nothing a saunacouldn't cure.
I have 1 week left of rifle season and then a few weeks of bow after that, but alot of deer will have droped their antlers by then.I hope to head south this weekend and try and find some deer that are still in rut.
Good luck to any hard core, or unlucky guys who are still at it.
It is almost rabbit time

I still have some late season to look forward to in a few weeks. I don't really gun hunt much. There's too many people around with guns shooting at anything that moves at impossible ranges emptying out their gunswhich makes me not want to be in the woods.
Last year though in late season, my partner and I saw a combined total of 26 deer. More then we saw all season. Including a huge 10 point.

Due to a very demanding work schedule I've hunted less this season than I have in many years. Gun season is still in here, but I hope to getto dosome bowhunting this weekend. We could use another deer or two in the freezer & I gotta try & break in my new bow.

One of the many reasons to be thankfull I live in MS--I can bowhunt throughout deer season, and it runs from Oct 1 to Jan 31 (although it's usually too dang hot in Oct.). Just got invited to hunt on a friends place--he's not hunting this year due to health reasons--and it's got a LOT of deer on it. Looks to be at least one really nice buck there, but I'm happy with a young doe myself (easier to drag out, and more tender). A great turn-around to what was looking like a really crappy season--not going to be able to hunt in TN this year, most of my old spots have been taken over by clubs, and my one spot that I pretty much have to myself has been dry as a bone (according to my brother's game camera, the deer have been almost 100% noctournal there, even though they have almost zero pressure????).

Here in OK it's Oct 1 - January 1. There are some folks out in orange a couple weeks of that time. I sat in a tree with a rifle last sunday feeling pretty darn guilty my longbow was on the rack back at home. It was an invitation from my brother-in-law so I did it. Finally got permission to hunt some land so late season will be a lot of fun for me. Still got a month to tote my longbow around the woods.

Nice deer jimmy, I got one the other night with the rifle. I am back at it hard with the bow shooting everyday, and gust got some small game arrows around for late grouse and rabbit season.
