My compound/Backtenison release draw length is 28.5. So My recurve is what? 27.5?
At 27'' Myrecurve is at about 42lbs
At 28" My recurve is at about 45lbs
Will a 400 grain arrow get the job done without any problems. I wanted to shoot my Beman 400's with 125 Muzzy four blade heads. It really shoots these arrows nice. I tried some 2314 aluminums and they don't fly for crap! I'm trying to get buy without buying new arrows for this set up!

I wanted to weight up some carbon arrows to use on my recurve. Wanted more weight than I could get with weedwhacker line, and didn't want to spend the money for Carbon Express weight tubes, and thought I knew what they were anyway so...
I went to the pet store and bought some air line tubing they use for aquarium filters. Works great at adding weight but every time my arrows hit the target the tubing would bounce the nock out of the arrow.
So, I got some of the old Gold Tip nocks with set screws and tightened them down real good. That kept the nocks in place. Then after shooting the stuff for awhile, the tubing shrank and started shifting back and forth inside the shaft. Not good at all, having the arrow's FOC shifting during the shot.[:-]
If/when I ever get the hankering to try carbon arrows with weight tubes again, I'll get the CX weight tubes instead. I doubt I ever will though. The Carbon Express Terminator Select arrows already have the weight without having to jump thru all those hoops. I'm still thanking JeffB for turning me onto those.
