... when you just gotta finally make a decision on which bow you're going to take as your #1 hunting bow for the coming season. I was wanting it to be my longbow but, this year... frankly, my longbow shooting sucks - bigtime. The last 3 times I've taken my longbow to the range, I've come home depressed, and usually with a couple arrows fewer than I'd had in my quiver when I left the house. And I used to be fairly decent with a longbow.[&o]
Time to put the longstick up till after turkey season next spring and concentrate on the recurve. My Kings Pawn will be this season's workhorse. It's shootin' gooood.

My ChekMate Kings Pawn is 52# @ 32", red elm under clear glass with a bubinga riser.
My longbow is the one I made in my friend's garage a couple years ago. It's 68", reflex/deflex design, 54# @ 31", bocote riser with hickory limb cores under clear glass.

Arthur, that is exactly why I HAD to buy a Hunter II.
Very pleased with the improvement in shooting. Nto sure if its the grip or teh mass of teh riser, but the recurve just gets it done.
You're not alone. Enjoy the recurve !.....besides, longbows are just too trendy

I was over shooting bows at my neighbors house tonight and he has 3 different bows he tends to shoot, we are getting ready for the upcoming elk season, and he is having one heck of a time deciding which bow to bring for the trip. I looked at him and said i am glad i am not in your shoes! I know he will end up bringing all 3!!! I recently had a custom built longbow made and she is shooting sweet, thats the one i will be using. He also had one built, then he has his selway, and his big horn, I also had the problem in deciding which bow to hunt with, but i made up my mind it will be my custom bow!

Yeah, I had a heckuva time with snap shooting there for a long while but, at long last, I've finally got that under control.
I wish I knew what the problem is. I do fine with the recurve. I've always shot a recurve better than I can a longbow but have always been a decent longbow shooter. Now though, the longbow seems like it's fighting me. Arrows go high, low, left, right with no rhyme or reason to it. It's not the bow. The other guys can pick up my bow and pick flies off the target butt at 30 yards with it. Kinda ticks me off that everyone else can shoot my bow, the one I made for [i]me[/], better than I can![:@]
I've definitely lost my confidence in my ability to shoot a longbow.
