About a month ago I was considering putting my new recurve down to begin serious practice with my longbow. Just couldn't shoot it consistent. I've made some minor adjustments to my form a suddenly not shooting to badly maybe confident enough to hunt with. But you are right the season is just around the corner, you've got to decide on which bow you know you can draw on that animal knowing you have the confidence and ability to make a good clean kill. Tough decision, yours to make though.

I know what you mean Arthur, I put down my longbow for many years, but recently I took it out and started shooting, at 10 Yds to start with. I was putting 5 out of 25 arrows in target.
I shot 25 shots everyday, I got rid of many arrows that were not flying right and cut to 15 arrows a day, right now Iam putting 12 arrows grouping in5 inches diameter, so after 2 weeks of practice iam better than I have ever being .
despite all my shoulder injuries I can still pull a 50# at 29 Hickory/bamboo self Bow.
I would never go back to compound bows that damage my shoulder, seem the quick release of the longbow is what I can hunt with.
Just keep at it , make sure your bow and arrows are the correct spine and the vanes at least 4.5" and of course I prefer wood to aluminum or others.
I just made 2 bamboo arrows , it took me several hours to straighten to satisfaction, but Boy ! are they fast.
Good luck
