Default Iced In

I don't think I will be getting out in the woods this afternoon. It might be a little dangerous. Not to mention a little noisy on stand. We have been hit with another freezing rain/ice storm. Everything is coated with about a 1/4" or more of ice. At least we still have power this time. Last year we were out for almost a week after an ice storm in early Dec. It is supposed to keep this up thru at least Monday. At least the roads are warm enough that it isn't sticking to them. Here is what it looks like around here.

I think I know the ice storm you were talking about from last year. I go to Eastern Illinois University and Im pretty sure the same storm moved through here, we had our first snow day in the past like 40 years at EIU. Pretty crazy, seems like it was alot worse than the ones in the pic and Im sure it was since it knocked your power out for a week.

Try being in Springfield last year. It was 5 times as bad as St. Louis. Missouri state was closed for a week, which never happens. Funny pasrt was this happened at the end of christmas break so we got 40 days off for our break. I came back to school and my apartment was 34 degrees inside. Luckily the girlfriend had electric by then. They are saying this storm could be like last years, but i doubt it.

That could have been real nasty had it stuck to the roads.

And it ain't over yet.....Ice storm warning till noon tomorrow. This is kind of weird ice, too. The roads, around here anyway, are just wet. No ice at all. It's not freezing on vehicles, nothing. Just the trees and power lines....Strange.

But, the sun is down so I'm sure it's gonna get colder, and gosh.....I just can't wait for my 30 mile drive to work in the morning.....Should be fun....NOT...

I'm glad the power is still on as well.....Keep your fingers crossed folks, this could get interesting.

Oh, and Rob? You should see the video of the 160 class buck he filmed in that food plot.....Very nice. It was dark, but hey......
