Try being in Springfield last year. It was 5 times as bad as St. Louis. Missouri state was closed for a week, which never happens. Funny pasrt was this happened at the end of christmas break so we got 40 days off for our break. I came back to school and my apartment was 34 degrees inside. Luckily the girlfriend had electric by then. They are saying this storm could be like last years, but i doubt it.

I'm in the metro-east STL area and we were out of power a few days over here.
It's been raining all weekend here but no ice yet where I'm at. I'm SouthEast of STL.

I to was iced in today, but I am lucky enough to be able to get to some woods without actually driving. I went out for about 2 hours this afternoon and just slowly walked around and checked out some fields. I had not seen many fresh tracks, so I figured the deer would need to feed at some point.
Finally after a little over an hour I saw my only 2 deer of the day, 2 does. I was able to slowly stalk within 42 yards of one of the does, and held tight behind a big pine tree. I knew the doe was going to cross between 15 and 20 yards in front of mewith the route she was taking.
My mistake was that I was so focused on the closest doe that I wasn't paying attention toher partner. After hearing it blow behind me I soon realizedthe other doehad came into the woodsand gotten downwind of me. Oh well still had a fun time freezing my butt off out there.
Last year's storm was a bad one. I was stuck in my house for the better part of 3 days, but it was in the middle of shotgun season so I was able to get a little hunting done and was lucky enough to harvest a doe by following some fresh tracks.
I live on top of a huge hill and there was no way I was going to be getting off of it last night during the middle of the storm. Hopefully it lets up a little tonight so I can make it to work in the morning. On second thought I hope it keeps on coming so I can hit the woods again

Had one here last year that left an unbelieveable amount of ice around my house. I didnt go to school for 4 days and the power was out for that long to. I will say it was the most beautiful sight i have ever seen though.
