sabotloader,I Thank You, If my old Chrony is telling me the truth [I cut it back some just to be on the safe side] then it should still have plenty of energy as far as i would even consider shooting. Looks like a big cruve till you realize that you could cover it with the palm of your hand. Thanks, Lee

You are not the only one that has posted 2400 fps for 200 grain Shockwaves - so I would say your chrono is hanging right in there...
Those are amazing numbers for a ML. Really makes you wonder. Like I have said I just wish I had some ballistics jell to shoot one of these things into to see what it does. What happens to it when it hits bone at the velocity it is traveling. Gosh I just have so many questions about this bullet - it goes against the grain of all muzzleloading thinking (big bullet - big hole).

Sabotloader-I shot a few 200gr shockwaves last week with 120gr 777/2f out of my Omega.Target at 100yds,with a dirt bank about 25 yds behind target.I don't know what they wil do in gell, but I dug in the muddy bank and pulled out mangled jackets that penetrated only 8 to 10" Looks to me like they really came apart fast but the jackets were pretty much all there. I know my velocity was much less than 2400fps.

That is kinda what was worrying me.... Are you indicating that the lead had separated from the copper on some of the bullets you dug out? I'm getting 16" to 20" penetration in damp Palouse farm soil from the Noslers I normally shoot.
Although last night I remembered why I had not shot these 10 mm (40 cal) bullets sooner, they are not legal for ML big game hunting in Idaho - 44 cal is the smallest we can use - hence i have not even looked at a 45 cal muzzleloader.
Thanks for the information....

I only dug out 3.Complete separation,no lead found other than a speck or two clinging to the copper jacket.I have no doubt they are a good bullet for longer ranges, based on what I have read on posts in other forums.I do remember someone asying he shot a deer at 20 yds and the bullet blew up. It did kill the deer though.
