RE: Short axle bows.
Thanks guys. I think that I've narrowed it down to my top 3 choices.
1.BowTech Mighty Mite (The BowTech factory is in my State)
2.Parker UL31
3.Hoyt HavocTec
Probably in that order. Price and how comfy it is to shoot will be a big factor also. I'll try to get over and check them out this week. As soon as I get the O.K. from the wife I'm going to set one up with a Trophy Ridge Matrix sight, whisker biskit, and an alpine softloc quiver. I might get a no peep sight too (I'm not sure never used one). I'll let you know what I get.

RE: Short axle bows.
Throw in another vote for the Havoctec (like everybody didn't see that one coming). I have tried and/or owned two out of those three bows and I would rate the Havoctec as quieter and more well put together than the other two...(though I wouldn't mind shooting any of them for the upcoming season..) Plus, you have super adjustable Versacam to play with.
Try them all out and see which one you like to shoot the most...that will be the true test.

I shoot a Bowtech Tech29 and a friend had the Bowtech Mighty Mite. I tried both bow, and my opinion is that the Tech29 is a tad smoother. Try the Tech29 if you like it. It's a bit shorter at 29.5" ata, but shoots awsome. I had no regret for this bow. My set up is 25" draw, ~370 grain, and 60# with around 240-255 fps.

While I won't try to talk you out of it, why are you limiting yourself to 33" ATA MAX? IMNSHO your handicapping your choices right off the bat.
Again, shoot what works for you...just wondering why so short

Stealth Force
I wanted a short axle bow so I can hunt turkey from a blind and in a sitting position. I also hunt in some pretty dense forest and like to hike several miles was thinking the shorter, lighter bow would be an advantage.
Straight arrow
I shot several bows in the $500 range and they were great. The guy at the shop asked if i have heard a Martin. I tried the Phantom Mag. WOW! What a sweet bow. It shot just as well or better than the more expensive bows I was shooting (I think it was $339.00). I can't get it this week though.
I'm gonna have to wait a couple weeks.
I'm getting a MZE rest, trophy ridge matrix sight or alpha (not decided), Alpine Softloc quiver, and not sure what stabilizer I want though.
Anyone have any sight and stabilizer suggestions?
Thanks,
Kirk

RE: Short axle bows.
notavegiatrian: PERFECT answer for the short ATA question.
As for sights, I have the Copper John's sight, and just got a Trophy Ridge Nitro Extreme. The ONLY reason I decided to switch to the Nitro, is that the pin light I was using for my pins seemed to be going through bulbs (LEDs technically). Maybe due to vibration...maybe something else, but I wanted something a bit more reliable...the Nitro lights seem to be the answer. The Trophy Ridge also is a bit brighter without the lights as well.
BOTH are GREAT sights, but I wanted reliability.
BTW...I suggest the Nitro extreme over the Matrix...basically they are the same sight...only the Matrix has the DVD thingies. If you REALLY think those things do diddly squat...get the Matrix...I have tried and failed to get the Nitro to make any etxra noise that the DVD would stop (ringing by hitting with a wrench....NONE!)
