Has anyone heard of or tried camo clothing with ab-scent technology? I assume it's the same as the other carbon suit technology, but under a different patent name....Thanks

Sorry Chilly, but where I hunt its seldom cold enough for that type of product to be tolerable for very long in one sitting. I suspect most folks are not familiar with that product name.

I have the absent long underwear. It seems to work great. I wore it all last season and never got busted by a deers nose. The long underwear is actually very comfortable in the early season when it's warm. It feels like a tight woven silk. I've never tried the camo stuff but if they incorporate the same sent stopping material it should work great.

Chilly,
I have never tried the stuff but I have read about it. For some reason I keep thinking of the one odor eliminating clothing that uses some sort of deodorant instead of carbon in its fabric. Absent might be the one...I will have to do a little digin'

Contain is the brand that uses odorless deodorant. Ab-scent is material impregnated with abscent crystals, which supposedly contain more surface area than carbon, are not affected by water (abscent says that carbon will dispel scent to absorb water, which it prefers) and isn't supposed to require any special laundering. It is also readily affixed in common materials, which gives it great potential in socks, underwear, etc, as well as other hunting garments. The patented fabric is currently produced by Fox-Rich Textiles, and they are reluctant to release too much info until their lawyers give them the go ahead. I was told they would develope a website and be offering more products very soon. Last year they did a big ad campaign in various hunting mags, but I think legalities slowed them down. I imagine the carbon monsters are fighting them tooth and nail. The only thing I've seen so far is long underwear, which is made by Ace Sportswear, and was/is sold at Walmart and Meijer stores (the only places I've seen it, not at all Walmarts). They did admit that Carbon has a slight edge in odor adsorption, but the abscent is more cost effective, so garments can be produced cheaper, but also affixed to softer materials. I think Hunter's specialties powder and Atsko's no-odor2 powder contain abscent crystals.... I'm keeping my eyes out for more to develop from them. I'd love some socks, underwear and long sleeve t-shirts made of this stuff, next to the skin where odor originates...

Thanks for the replies so far. RB--I couldn't remember the name of the mfg. at the time; but you hit it with Fox-Rich. (I went home and looked on the label). This question is actually an afterthought on my part. I had seen the suit (hooded jacket/pants for $110) and put it on my christmas list. And I was lucky enough to get it. I knew the other carbon suits were too pricey, and I needed some new camo anyway. So I thought if it concealed the odor, that would be an extra. I have not used it yet, but it is a lightweight material and extremely comfortable. It should do well for early season, and as the weather progresses I can put it over other layers. Thanks again for the replies
