Once dipped, how well do vanes adhere to the shafts. Also, if need be, are they easily refleched without damaging the dip.

I have found that on a carbon arrow, they adhere MUCH better to the arrow. Don't know about aluminum, but I would predict they would stick great, but I think fletching adheres better to aluminum anyway. As far as replacing, use a commercially available fletching stripper, with a new blade, and be carefull. Yes, the lacquer will come off as well, but if you can put the new feather on in the exact same spot, you'll never notice.

whether you use feathers or vanes the fletching will adhere twice as well when dipped with bohning fletch laquer.yuo don't need to use high strength adhesive just bohnings glue for aluminum and carbon.I belive its in a silver tube.I have dipped tons of arrows both carbon and aluminum and have never had a fletching come off.I have always used a bitzenburger fletching jig the best you can get.I used to work at a local archery shop and the owner had been fletching arrows with these jigs for over 20yrs.hope this helps.brad bowtech patriot

When I first started tinkering around and learning about capping/dipping arrows, cresting and all that... I spent a good time in the Trad forum... those guys know their stuff!!!

Most of those guys who hand-build and customize their arrows fletch with Duco, which can be readily purchased at Wal-Mart for less than $2 a tube. That's what I started using, and it works great.
