How do you guys weigh your arrows?
Do you have to buy one of those little drug dealer scales or is there an easier way??
Thanks. |
RE: How do you guys weigh your arrows?
Well "drug dealer" scales are what you need but if you dont want to buy your own go to a proshop and im sure they will let you use their scale to weigh your arrows, but if you want your own i think that they run about $60, maybe cheaper im not real sure because i dont weigh my arrows.

What's wrong with going to the manufacturer's site, finding what the arrows weigh(gr.per inch) than adding the weight of your tips? You should be close enough.

I just took the grains per inch, and times that by how long my arrows are, added in point weight, nock weight, bushing weight, wrap weight, and my three vanes weight. And I came up with 509 grains!

You can get good weights with the scale shown here.
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...ks/link.jhtml? However I've found the calibration lines are not exactly on the mark, but it works good enough for me. |

I called it a "drug dealer" scale because that is what they look like..........they just call it the "Acrchers friend" or some cute name like that ![]() |

Personally, I get on the scale and weight myself. Then, I get an arrow and hold it in my hand and reweight myself. I subtract. Then convert the differnce into grains. I know it is a little more complicated but what the heck.;)
