Chuck7 Most carbon arrows are very thin walled, dense with hollow cores. If the arrow is damaged on the outside the damage will usually be visible. If fractured on the inside core, your first sign of damage will be on impact with the target or on release. [:o]

Thanks folks.

I put a cable guard on my compound also. That has kept the fletching from hitting the cables and then with the carbon arrows it's like I got a new bow. With all of your advice I'll be sure to keep an eye on those arrows. When people talk about spline are they referring to the make up of the shaft itself or the thickness of the wall of the shaft?

Sniper,
Thanks for the info. So about how long does a dozen of carbons last. I'm only going to shoot a round of 40 maybe every 2 weeks. I only shoot 4 at a time at the target. With my old bow I couldn't even make an accurate 30 yd shot. With the carbons I was getting nice groups.
