I don't quite follow what you mean by "fishy"? Is there a shim missing? Or does it have the "different" color shims? The older models had some goofy looking tanish-brown colored material used in the shimming material at one time, but it didn't hamper performance any to my knowledge. Need more input to pinpoint what you are talking about. P12

I think you hit it on the head even though I wasn't too clear. They material looks like a faucet gasket. That is what I thought was fishy. Kinda looks like it was rigged together. I was beginning to think it had been messed with or something.

BTW, so I know what I am chewing him (THE seller) out for what year did they stop using this material?

HMMM, good question. I would have to say late 1999 or the first part of 2000. They discontinued the Shadows in early 2000 and all remaining stock here in the states was liquidated from distributors.(you still may be able to buy them here and there, I can get my hands on a few certain sizes myself I think if I really dig) The factory had some up until a short time ago in stock, but I believe they were built during the same timeframe. I sold quite a few back then and noticed the shims but as stated they never affected performance at all. Good shooting, P12
