Well, I just got off the mountain w/ my elk. After the Snyper report, I thought I'd post my muzzy results no matter the outcome. Shot a spike yesterday morning at 22 yards w/ a muzzy 100 grain 4-blade (this is actually the very same BH that took my 6x6 last year, I just replaced the blades). Hit a rib on the way in and a rib on the way out and penetrated about an inch into the tree 10 yards behind it. Hit was a little far back but got one lung and liver and the blood trail was easy to follow and lasted only 80 yards. I had thought of using the 115 grainers but I liked the idea of killing 2 elk w/ the same head. Heck, if I replace the blades on it now it might take an elk next year. BTW it took a saw to get it out of that tree. My set-up is an ICS Hunter 340 pushing about 270 fps. If I can figure out my new camera, I'll get some pics posted.

Congrats, CG! I just purchased the Muzzy 100's after listening to the advice on this forum and they fly as good as my field points. I was persuaded from our fellow members of this site to ditch the mechanicals because of my marginal kinetic energy. Can't wait 'til tomorrow morning when I go on my 1st whitetail hunt of the season.
Please post the pics. Looking forward to seeing them.
Again, CONGRATULATIONS!

Congrats on the elk, way to go and we never had doubt about Muzzy. I shot my bull several years ago with Muzzy with virtually the same results.....33 yard shot, the arrow passed through plus about 10 yards, the shot, slightly back in the liver and a huge blood trail, watched the bull go down in 60 yards.
Congrats CG, looking forward to the pics.
