Hello all! I decided to get back into archery and bowhunting last year. I shot all year with some pretty old equipment and did pretty well.
This year I have decided to really hit it hard, get some new equipment and get serious about bow hunting. (not much of a stretch since I'm already an avid rifle/muzzleloader hunter)
After trying out several bows in my price range I settled on a PSE Typhoon. So far I have outfitted it with a Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter rest, a No-peep and my old $20 Cobra sight.
The setup is showing some definite promise. Already I am shooting better than I did all last year. The bow is plenty fast, very smooth and very quiet.
Now for the question. I would like to upgrade to a better sight. I am torn between the Vital Bow Gear and HHA single pin adjustable sights and a whole variety of fixed, multi pin sights. I like the uncluttered view that the single pin sights give. The Trophy Ridge sights with the inline pins look intriguing but I don't like the fact that they are made out of plastic.
I want something reasonably light, highly visible and very rugged. I will be using it for 3D and on the target range but it's main purpose will be for hunting.
Any thoughts, experiences and or comments would be appreciated!

two words.....Spot-Hogg. I just finally broke down and bought one about a month ago. I have yet to use it since I"m awaiting my bow, but I can say it is the most well built sight I ever seen. Simply awesome. Now I realize why so many like them.

Thanks for the heads up on the Spot-Hogg sights. They look to be exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to head up to Cabelas, see what they have in stock, an get some hands on time with them.
I won't be buying one for about 2 weeks so I'm still open for input here.

I use the Spott Hogg Real Deal for 3D and I use the Impact Archery Cosmic for hunting .I don't know maybe I'm the only one who think's this way, but unless you buy the brite lite to go with your Spott Hogg sight, I don't like it for hunting .It has all the qualities of a great dual use 3D or Hunting sight ,but I'm not big on the small pin's ,I just don't find that they hold the light long enough for hunting condition's.
As I said I really do like the sight itself but I'll only be using mine for 3D from here on in .

I have seen the Sidewinder LX, and it is a very nice site. It has a cover to go over the coils of fiber, as sometimes it would just be too bright. It has micro adjust and a two mounts. Very nice and well built site. I am waiting to see what CJ comes out with this spring, but the sidewinder is at the top of the list.
