That is not nearly enough information to even make a guess[&:]

Take it down to a pro shop or any sporting goods retailer who has a chronograph and shoot it.

We'll need the following information then to make a guestimate.

IBO speed on the bow
arrow weight
anything thats on the string.

give us that info, and we can probably make a pretty accurate guess.

Also need to knowthe poundgae and drawlength of the bow. All this and it's still a guess.

The impala is a traditional recurve bow so the stuff asked for above does not apply.

We already know that the bow is 55 pounds at 28 inch draw. We now need to know your draw length and the total weight of the arrow.

I would guess that with a 500 grain arrow and a draw length of about 28 inches you are around 180 - 190 fps give or take.

bigbulls, so my ignorance shows. Learn something every day. BUT, don't you think you're being a bit optomistic about the speed? I'd think something closer to 160fps would be more realistic? I could be wrong, so I'm open minded.

You may be correct. I was thinking that a 500 grain arrow is fairly light for a recurve bow wo I assumed a little bit more speed. Also with the newer materials and manufacturing processes used today bows tend to be a tad bit faster than years ago.

Of course my ignorance may be showing too.
