I am looking at buying a PSE Fire Storm lite and it is a double cam bow and i was wondering how people that have a double cam bow like them I have heard that a double cam bow is hard to keep sighted in I am also looking at the PSE Typhoon which is not a double cam bow what do you think will be a better choice. THANKS

I think with quality pre-stretched strings cam timing is almost a moot point, so pick the one that feels most comfortable to you. However, I doubt that bow comes with such a set of string/cable(s), so keep that in mind when you make your decision.

In my experience a twin cam or hybrid needs LESS adjustment than a single cam. With my single cams that looooong string kept stretching and changing point of impact, peep alignment, and nocking point. With a twin or hybrid, any stretch is symmetrical around the nock point, which minimized the effect of string stretch.

BTM, exactly. A longer string can and usually does stretch more.

A question here though. I work at a Gander Mt. store and we sell Fiestorm Lite. All I've seen are single cams. Is there something I can learn here? What cam is on the one in question?

all of my current bows are dual cams. I really prefer them. Bowtech duallys- 2 patriots, one pro 40.

BGFISHER I have seen them with only one cam to but this one has 2 cams on it how much does the single cam cost at gander mountain. THANKS

This year 2005, PSE is making the firestorm lite with the NRG hybrid system.
They also still have firestorm lite availible in single cam.

OK, we don't have a 2005 catalog yet, or the bows. Redneck, are you referring to the Hybrid cam that bba is talking about? The way you can tell if it's single or hybrid is that there won't be a yoke cable connected to the bottom limb. Dual cam bows have two cables, thus a yoke on each limb.

I like to keep an open mind, but to tell the truth, PSE just doesn't do much for me. If they have come out with their version of a hybrid then I say "good". It's about time they did something new besides change camo color. Their upper end bows aren't bad. It's the lower end bows that they just keep stamping out of the mold just to sell bows. But then again, it's a business and the idea is to make money. And a lot of it comes from the uninformed.

I agree with BTM . Dont be afraid to get a dual cam bow , or a hybred cam bow . Most of the manufactures have addded them to their line ups , and some have gone to them exclusively . They shoot great and like range said , with the newer string materials the manufactures use now , they stay in time for alot of shots .
