RE: Cabelas Outfitter 1.5 cam bow
Welcome to the board! Feel free to stick around and post often, sounds like you have a wealth of info to share which we'll all find beneficial. 1) I haven't found a topic to really sink my teeth into lately so I just post here and there on occasion and..... 2) It is hunting season here in PA, Man! I have to be out hunting at some point otherwise what I post here doesn't really have any backbone now does it? ;):D |

RE: Cabelas Outfitter 1.5 cam bow
Hi again Range:
I know this doesn't exactly pertain to your quesiton about the Cabelas or Buckmasters bow, but does pertain to one of your questions. I decided that I absolutely HAD to get a backup to the Tundra, and after having some tuning/nock travel? issues with another single cam bow, I decided to move that one and get a Darton Rampage for a backup. It has the same riser as the Tundra, just straight limbs instead of recurve, and CPS Express cam(s) instead of the newer Extreme cam(s). I can tell it will be a good shooter, but it has much more "snap" or "thwack" to the shot, much like the Maverick I had. I have Limb Savers Ultra, catwhiskers on the string and cables, and the combo of an Enhancer 2000 and a 6" Stealth stabilizer. It is not close to the noise level of the Tundra, and seems to have more "jump" or recoil as well. I'm not sure if it is the Express cams, or the straight limbs, but it is not the same feel by a long shot. (no pun intended) I guess someone who has shot a Maverick Extreme could tell you if the cams make that much of a difference from the Express system. The Extreme cam's profile seems smoother, and is not making any marks on my cable serving at all, unlike most singles I have had that get serving separation very quickly. The Buckmaster could be a very nice bow, as could the new Browning that was just announced.;) |
