bowstring wearing out

Default bowstring wearing out

after only 40 or so shots my release is wearing out my string. how do i keep this from happening?

your release has a burr on it causing it to cut into your string you need to remove any sharp edges fron the jaws of the release and you may want to consider using a string loop.

Best I can tell you -- look at getting a string loop. Lots of advantages (minimized torque, minimized nock pinch, etc...). Helped out a lot for my shooting!
