Default Release Strap Creaking

I'm shooting a Scott Mongoose release with a buckle strap. On the draw, I can hear the leather creaking a little. Its the ONLY sound I can hear while drawing my bow. Does anybody have any tips for eliminating this noise? Id have to say I have probably a thousand shots on this release, but im not sure.

RIS,It's the finish on the leather, one of my Scott Mongoose's did that. What I did was, take a file and "rough up" the finish wherever the leather finishes come together. That worked pretty good...Bob

I dont like leather straps. One they carry human stink with it, like leather boots do; and two they start making that sound. The sound comes from the leather treatment, or as I could see on my old leather ones. You can either remove most of the finish, or use a leather oil on it. Id choose to rough it up, but then you end up impreagnating it with more human stink. Mink oil is ok, but if you live where I do, that smell is an unusual smell.

Good luck
