I have never used one but from what other people have told me and from what I have read on the forums they are noisey.
Works very very well as well. I love mine.
Draw, aim, shoot. Nothing else going on in the mind...
Just make sure if you are hunting in uneven ground the shots you take stay within the parameters of the pendulum concept... 10-30' up a tree, 5-25/30ish yards out from tree, depending on the fps of your set up...

The closest I have tried mine was about four yards away from the tree.
which was a lot straight down. Mine worked.. Toxonics pendulum.
Mine also has a slight buzz upon release, but it hasn't mattered at all. The deer that heard it, aren't around anymore.

I have an Outback that I put a Toxonics Sniper Pendulum on. I have used this sight for two years on another bow and have been extremely happy. It has the pendulum for 0-30 yards and two fixed pins for longer distances. No noise at all. As far as shooting straight down, the Toxonics pendulum will only swing so far and then it stops.
I can't speak for other pendulums but I can definitely recommend the Toxonics.
