With my birthday coming up, just before the bow season, I have been given the OK to shop for a new bow setup... Here is the deal, and you tell me what bow(s) make sense for me...
1. I have never shot a release, ever. However, most new bows are too short for fingers, and I will most likely learn it...
2. This is a hunting bow, so I want a good blend of forgiveness and arrow speed, but mostly hunting accuracy.
3. I am leaning towards something with the single cam design, but it isnt the biggest deal to me.
4. Price -- I already have a Kwikee Kwiver, Toxonic sight, and Stabilizer, so I wont need any of that stuff, but woud like to keep the price of the bow close to 300...

For the money I think a Reflex Grizzly would be a good choice. Reflex is made by Hoyt. Outdoor Life did a review on 21 bows and Reflex got great marks for the money, they said it scored better than bows costing twice as much.

Welcome H80. Most people on here will tell you to try as many different bows in your price range as you can. Then go with the one that you like the best. Good luck and happy birthday.

Hit up gander mountain today and looked at bows, and 2, actually 3 i really liked... first was a Bear TXR or something, in realtree, looked really good and felt the best in my hand... second was a Goldedn eagle obsession, looked good and felt good, and finally was a Buckmaster, not sure on the exact model but was only 30 inches axle to axle and was very light.... a little above my price range $400...
havent decided yet, but did pick out a nice rope releasae by tru fire in realtree camo

hoyt ultra sport. 1/2 inch of feflex, 36 inch axle to axle, 7 1/4 inch brace height, nice thin grips and the cam and a half system. I shot one, very nice bow for the money. Around 290 to 350 in my area. For 50 or 60 bucks more you can can get the ultra mag with the laminated limbs. They shoot around 300 fps and are very smooth to draw.
Unless you just hate the way they feel or look I think they are great bows for the money.
