I'm shooting a Martin Slayr, nitrous cam, 27.5", 55lbs and hunting setup is getting about 280fps. 3D is 293+. By far the fastest bow I've ever had and just as shootable as the best I had from Pearson, such as the 38" Special. Just 25-30fps faster. Now, if money gets to be an issue you can get the Martin Cougar III with nitrous cams for about $150 less money. |

Mathews LX or Outback are two great bows for around 600 or 630. Can't go wrong with a Mathew's.

Alot of the tournament shooters wanted the 60% mods for a crisper release, so of course they made them. (high letoff mods allow more "slop" in the system) Seeing as it is the same cam, they are thus available on all of the bows. Speed increase is roughly 7-9 fps depending upon which cam, drawlength, and poundage. Good shooting, Pinwheel 12 |

There are a ton of great bows on the market at this time. It is my belief that you will find it a bit difficult to shoot one that you wouldn't enjoy owning. The only way to determine which will meet your personal preferences best, is to shoot them all and then decide. This won't tell you which one shoots best for you, but it will tell you which one feels best to you. Testing new bows is fun. Good luck, |

Very good speed considering the brace. |

I have a mathews outback and love it. I have never shot a bowtech but I have heard nothing but good things about them. Never been a big fan of split limbs so I never tried the hoyts either. Definately shoot some mathews and bowtechs if you have dealers for both nearby.

I would go with Pinwheel 12's advice and get the Max Extreme.
Yes, I'm biased toward Merlin but you can't beat their components and craftsmanship. ;) Sag.  |

Definetly give the BowTech line a good look I think you'll be impressed with this lineup. I shot the Liberty today and was pretty impressed .
