Default Anyoney Use One of These?

Has anyone ever used one of the Gateway Feather Choppers. It looks pretty interesting. I was thinking about getting one since I like to use 4" shield cut feathers and those sometimes are hard to come by at a decent price. But I can find lots of full length feathers all over the place. And at $30 I think it might be well worth it. Let me know if anyone has used this and what your opinions of it are. http://www.gatewayfeathers.com/accessories.htm

I've never used one, myself, but I know some guys that do. They don't necessarily rave about their feather choppers, but they don't gripe about 'em either. I guess they get the job done.

Agreed. I have one from when I used to shoot trad. I've got a 5" banana cut chopper. Used it a bit but not much. Still have a couple bags of full length feathers somewhere I believe.

Hell..I've got a young feather burner like new somewhere too...godawful stinkin thing[:@]

I don't miss using either one...

Thanks Art, I just find it hard sometimes to find right wing 4" shieldcut feathers here in PA. Everyone uses leftwing parabolic. I just think in could make my life easier when it comes to finding a supply of feathers. It is either this or a Young Feather Burner.

I don't have any experience with the choppers, but I've thought abut getting one myself. You can save yourself some money and get one from 3 Rivers Archery. Both 3 Rivers and Keystone have reasonable prices on shield cut feathers.....I prefer them over parabolic simply for asthetic appeal. Keystone isn't all that far from you and Cabelas has 'some' shields too.

Nuthin' like the gentle fragrance of burnt feathers wafting thru the house on a Saturday morning. My wife says it smells just like divorce court.

Hey PA try THIS PLACE. They have the largest selection of feathers that I have found so far.

I kinda like the looks of the Raptor shaped feather. I prefer shield shaped feathers as well.
