bowtech mighty mite
This is the frist week i have really shot this bow
|
RE: bowtech mighty mite
And it is very very accurate for a short bow.. Does anybody else have this bow and how do you like it
|
RE: bowtech mighty mite
I have one and am impressed with its shootability despite its short axle to axle length. This is one of those short bows that goes against the grain of traditional thinking. It will be my hunting bow come this fall.

RE: bowtech mighty mite
I had an 03 that I just sold not too long ago. I relly like it and don't have a bad word to say about it. Very accurate and much more stable than you'd think for a bow it's size. Only reason I sold was a buddy really wanted it and I was hankerin' for a Dually. I still see the bow although seeing someone else shoot it now is like seeing your ex girlfriend with her new boyfriend:D:D He let's me shoot it still though;)

RE: bowtech mighty mite
That's pretty decent of him Trushot ,haha I know how you feel when you let something go and were unsure on whether to do it or not .But now you got a new bow and all is forgotten till you see your buddy haha.

RE: bowtech mighty mite
I have an 04 MM. It is a great shooter and super quiet. Although my 3d scores dropped with it from a 301 average (30 targets 11 point max) shot with my extreme the first 5 weeks of the league to a 298 over the past 3 weeks. I have shot two 290's and a 288 with it so far[:o]
I am unsure of our future together[&o]. Either I start shooting some higher scores or I may be looking harder at a pat or pro 40 sc or dually. We will try our best to work it out though. But I am still in first place in my hunter class (35 yard max) out of 28 shooters with only 2 weeks to go so its all still good:) He is a pic of us trying to work out our differences. Wish us the best of luck, not so much for us, but for the arrows sake. It sure is a lonely and clod arrow bucket they will all be retired to if things dont change:( ![]() |
RE: bowtech mighty mite
Dude, you have some issues.
:D |
RE: bowtech mighty mite
I have a 2004 MM VFT and it will be my main bow come hunting season. I LOVE the back wall, but my accuracy is not as good as it could be (I'll be getting a MZE rest soon for it to see if that helps). Seems like the bow could use a tad more weight, but it is fast and quiet. I call it my pocket rocket - at 29" DL and 65 lbs DW, it zips my 375g arrows at 309 fps. 79 lbs of KE is plenty, and at 65 lbs, it feels like I'm drawing back about 55. Definitly a bow worth consideration.

RE: bowtech mighty mite
REALLY ???,,29" 65,,,375 =309,,That seems a bit HIGH.I know that bow is fast,but for 29" and 65 lbs.DAMN that smokes[:-]
|
RE: bowtech mighty mite
I know:)! In all fairness though, the chronograph I use is the arrowspeed radarchron - it's accuracy is + or - 2%, so it could be up to 6 fps slower than it reads. The bow only maxes out at 65 lbs. Makes me wonder what the bow is actually capable of. My hunting weight will be 60 lbs DW - still plenty enough KE at 294 fps;), and it draws so effortlessly at that weight;). One of the other guys in my neighborhood bought one the same day as I did - he can only get about 292 with his (350g arrow), his bow maxes out at 68 lbs, but he has a 27.5" draw.

RE: bowtech mighty mite
The Radarchron that I tinkered with this past winter was within 3-4 fps of the other two chronos I was playing with at the time. What do you have on the string?...factory hush kit?...anything else? Is it an actual 29 inch draw or a bit more. That speed is very good for that bow. I would be happy for sure if I were in your shoes.

Update on "our situation"
Well as it turns out I took the Extreme out for a shoot behind MM's back had a hell of a time and won first place (kinda cheesy trophy though):D. I shot a 291 out of a 300 count at the shoot, 40 yard max. I blew a 40 yard shot at a broadside tukey and got a 5 on it. It was a tuff shot for sure. It was the first time the Extreme and I have spent any time together for about 5 weeks or so. Not to shabby of a score for blowing the dust off of it. It, destiny, will bring the Patriot SC and I together I can feel it.;) I believe the MM will go curbside to make room for a new Patriot. I will keep the Extreme for some side fun. It is a damn fine shooter for it going against all the rules of a "forgiving" bow. Anyone know anyone looking for a 04 MM? I never turned the warranty card in, If so I may know of one for sale.:)<----This is not, I repeat this is not an attempt to solicit a sale on the BBS. Just passing on some info ;) ![]() |

PABowhunter-
This is what I have on the bow: The hush kit remains except for the string (still have those "bowjack silencer things" on the cables). I replaced them with cat wiskers - trimmed to about 1.5" each - they are set about 3" from the idler wheel and cam (not served, just tied), I removed the nock, and have a string loop only, with a "no - lose" peep sight (magnum). My present rest is a QT 2000 drop-away. I installed limbsavers in addition to the vibra-blocks, but slid the vibra-blocks toward the end of the limbs (toward the cam and idler wheel). The draw is probably more like 29.5" since I played with the draw stop on the infinity cam. I checked it today to make sure, and here is what I shot (arrowspeed radarchron): Arrow - Goldtip XT 55/75 - 27.2", 3 - 4" left-helical gateway feathers (4 degree offset). At 65 lbs DW I shot a 3-shot average of 305 FPS with a 100g tip (field point) - Total arrow weight = 375g . With a 75g field tip (350g), I shot a 3 shot average of 313 FPS. I use 100g for hunting. I will hunt at around 60 lbs DW. Before I put the limbsavers on, there was a noticable hand shock, but now - it's quiet AND fast! It's amazing sometimes how 2 identicle bows set up the same can shoot the same arrow at different speeds. |
RE: bowtech mighty mite
That's definitely a keeper!;)
|
RE: bowtech mighty mite
Shazaam! Yeah...I'd hang on to that one.:D
|
RE: bowtech mighty mite
Buckeye, nice pic and congratulations on your win!! I agree that the '04 Patriot VFT has the best of all features for mainly hunting and some "all but serious" 3D shooting.

Your chrono Or your scale Or your DL is way off. The bow only maxes out at 65 lbs. Are you using a hand held scale? - because those are famous for showing 10 lbs low. I would guess you are shooting over 70lbs and very close to 30" |
