I seem to remember a quote that the average archery shot is at 18 yards. That info has been around for awhile though so I do not know if things have changed in recent years. I suspect little if any.

I also use one pin set dead on at 20yds and 99% of my shots are 20yds and less. I'm confident out to 30yds but the areas i hunt are thick and there isn't many shot opportunites past 25yds.

I read an article in one of the popular bow hunting mags last year that said that the average shot that a "professional" bow hunter had taken deer at was 19 1/2 yards. Sound about right to me, professional or not.

I've never shot more than 25 years at a deer. I have a pin set at 35 and if the right shot were presented I am 100% positive I could drive it home.
This is key!
if the right shot were presented
