cool trick

Ok RB, you must be slippin'. That wasn't presented with quite the usual "gusto"....or maybe I just did not see it that way.
The hair dryer trick does work but not with all styles of vanes nor under all conditions. It will save a couple bucks on occasion though.
Here is one for ya. Take a bit of string wax and smear it on the ends of your axles where the e-clips are located. This serves two functions. One, it helps to repel moisture and, two, it can quiet any loose e-clips.

Steam does the same thing for feathers !!
Extra tip : Use some clear finger nail polish (hopefully from the wife
) ......put a dab on your broadhead threads........works like a mild lock tite.........holds broadheads tight ........but can still be broken loose pretty easy !!
May not be for some of you scent control freaks...........I have many dead deer that didn't smell it !!

I have also straightened vanes by laying the arrow on a flat surface such as a countertop so that the vane is flat on the surface and rub the vane vigorously (easy folks). This heats it up enough to straighten it out when laying flat.
