bow seems in tune BUT!!
it goes against what I was told! I set the cam in time cable & string took awhile turn here twist their then I checked the tiller off by A hole turn! can this be right?
I was told to turn both equal but to get them straight I had to turn one making it uneven. I am shooting bullet holes but my knocking point is dead even with the rest .if I raise it bad paper tear all would be good but with the even arrow im pulling the arrow off the rest.. HELP |
RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
Are some of these newer bows as perpelexing to tune as it sounds by this message.....or is it a phraseology problem? :)

RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
PA,if you are shooting a 1 cam you do not check tiller by measuring to the bow string. You measure tiller by running a string from 1 axle to the other axle and then measure to that string, not the bow string.

RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
If you're shooting a loop (which I assume you are) the loop to tight on the nock may be causing you to lift the arrow off the rest.

RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
I thought it was axle to axle I seen on A site that they did it on the string.
I messed with the string & cable for couple hrs. it's close but not perfect Im going to shoot more see if string scretchs any more. thanks! |
RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
Definitely do not measure it to the string on a conventional single cam bow. It will give you a false reading and hours of worthless tinkering...if there is such a thing...;)

RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
I say forget about that paper tune and start bare shaft tuning and group tuning with broadheads. Chances are, you'll find that you need to adjust the nock point anyway.

RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
ya I'm back to normal now after A lot of worthless tinkering!
Shoots the same as it did before I tuned the cam. I paper shoot with bare shaft to check the knocking point all good! Does anyone file the knock out to make it not so tight on the serving ? I honesly think thats why my arrow was lifting from the rest I have'nt messed with it tonight I did loosen up the loop. OR another question! I seen A picture with knocks inside the loop anyone do this? I did it to mine I like it seems to look like a flatter surface for the arrow. |
RE: bow seems in tune BUT!!
DON'T file nocks grooves. Reserve with a thinner serving.
