haha very true. I might have lean towards the speed means nothing side... lots of recurves kill deer each year. And I KNOW that indians bows weren't too fast.;)

laugh at FPS. This is why. means nothing outside the 3D shoots
You may laugh but the most important thing that someone can carry with them into the woods is confidence. So right wrong or indifferent if it gives a person more confidence then it may be a valuable commodity to them. Also, I think it can be beneficial in those mistakes in yardage estimation that everyone makes at some point or another. 5 of the 6 deer that I killed last year, I would not have been able to range if I had a range finder and while I don't know what the difference in arrow drop from a bow shooting 230 fps is compared to a bow shooting 280 fps, I am quite sure it's enough to make the difference between a heart shot and a low miss at 35 yards.

Also remember the heavier the arrow the more efficient the bow will be!
That's simply not true. The bow will typically be more efficient up to a point. After a certain point the bow will become less efficient. Have you ever heard of the law of deminishing returns?

I'm talking about hunting arrows. There is NO arrow on the market heavy enough for this to happen. Think about how loud a bow is with a light arrow. Sure if you had a 10 pound arrow you might see diminishing returns, might.

You are wrong and there have been some tests done in the past to prove it. If some of the "techs" jump in they will verify what I am telling you. Actually, you will start seeing deminishing returns at 700 grains or so. The tests gone be done by shooting arrows of different weight and differentiating at what points the arrows begin to gain and decrease more rapidly in speed over a given weight range!

I am gonna add my 2 cents here and side with the guys that say fps means nothing. Faster bows are typically harder to shoot accurately. I have tried the fast bow thing with light arrows....the end result? Dead deer but not as much penetration. Dead is dead, but I feel a whole lot better taking a slower moving heavier arrow and puting it through the vitals and 6" into the ground, something I haven't ever done with light carbons with 75 gr head out of the same bow/poundage as I have done with 2216 super slams and 100 gr head. Just a little experiece of mine, I know it is only my opinion but I know the heavier arrows will go deep and that gives me more piece of mind on marginal hits!
