Default Is there anything wrong?

Alright guys. I haven't shot my bow through a chrono in a while. Last night I did I it read an average of 268fps. I am shooting a 04' Bowtech Extreme @61.5#'s with a 28.5" draw and a 27" Beman ICS arrow with a 100gr tip weighing in @ around 380gr. I have a tru peep, brass nock, speed nock and BT silencers on the string. I have shot it probably between 200 and 300 times. I know you lose speed after setting everything up but should I be losing that much. The BC said 306fps. I have only had this bow for about 3 weeks and I just realized that this seemed a bit slow after reading some other setups', speeds.

If you have a similar setup let me know what you are getting and let me know what you think. Any info and comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Mike

Go back and look at the BC.

What draw weight and draw length is it listed at. I really doubt it is listed as 62# 28.5 DL.

Now add the extra arrow weight and all the stuff on the string.

Thats is still good speed for everything you have on the string and with the DL and Draw weight.

BC says

28.5" draw
300gr arrow
306fps
61.5#

Maybe the speed does work out, I am just checking to make sure I am not crazy

Those are some big differences from what they do at the factory for the birth certificate.

I realize that, but 268 just seems a bit slow.

you are 80 grains over in arrow weight as tested. So right there you are losing aprox. 22FPS alone.

Alright that along with the junk on my string would sound a bout right. I didn't know what that 80gr over would equate to in fps.

thanks

30 grains generally equals ruffly 10 FPS.

tru peep, brass nock, speed nock
and that's a lot of metal hanging on the string compared to having NONE of that at the factory.
